Bev, that may be a fine attitude among friends and in a school classroom, but isn't criticism of writing/art/film/music to be expected when something is published for the public? Whether posting said review in Smash's own Blog is tasteful is, however, open to debate. Personally, I'm so poorly exposed to current politics that I don't even know who Karl Rove is or what his relationship is with Cheney so I couldn't tell if it was funny or not...
Worked the last 2 days and just caught up with the Smash. Hysterical!! How do you do that? PS to 1st Anonymous: Don't make me go over there and tie your undies over your head. Love Ma Smash
OK, generally I don't comment on this sort of thing, but I just have to ask: You don't know who Karl Rove is? Honestly?
In other news: I picked Karl Rove, because he's a fascinating person and pretty interesting to both ends of the spectrum; I agree that people have a right to judge public wevs however they see fit; and finally, you're dumb, because that entry was fuckin' funny, jackass.
To Anonomous #1 and all his/her ilk: You know, Jennie isn't at all opposed to people having varying views on her work. Otherwise, she would stuff her writings in a desk drawer instead of posting them online. Those who feel it necessary to insult her talent to make their petty little lives feel more important have nothing to fear from her. As you can see, however, they do have much to fear from her loyal fanclub. As for myself, I respect others' rights to their own opinions, but I will never understand why Jennie's opposers insist on posting as "Anonomous." Grow a pair and at least give us a first name, if you feel it so necessary to share your dislike. And also, you're stupid and I hate you.
Nope, it's true: I honestly didn't know who Karl Rove was until a little bird named Google told me. Just to boost my esteem, I asked randomly around my office and 3 out of 4 colleagues didn't know, and the ones who did said something to the effect of "isn't he Bush's right hand man or something?" I'm not sure what this says about the state of the public's political education!
Hilarious. You have such a way with words. Hope it takes you far.
ReplyDeleteAnd "they" said Jenny couldn't be political.
ReplyDeleteFuck Gregory .. fuck him right in his stupid ear!
I'm disappointed. You usually have a clever wit; I viewed this as a pedestrian effort. sorry.
ReplyDeleteShut up asshole.
ReplyDeleteJennie, did you pick Karl Rove as your Blog persona or was it assigned?
ReplyDeletedoes jenniesmash have a security team on her comment board?
ReplyDeleteYes, in fact we'll be clearing this party immediately as a security measure to protect Ms. Smash. Y'all wanna fight? Fine...but not in this bar.
ReplyDeleteDear Disappointed Anonymous:
ReplyDeleteNow, 'fess up, Mother Cheney, if Ms. Smash had used Ted Kennedy instead of Karl vonRoventermann as the target, you would have laughed your head off.
Yours truly,

I will never understand people. If you don't like what you're reading, watching, doing, just stop and read, watch, do something else.
ReplyDeleteJennie Smash is not charging a fee to read her writing, so if you don't like it, just shrug your shoulders and move on. No biggie.
This may be a trite response, but it still holds true: If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all.
