That rat bastid Derek Carpenter is not in the office today, and so he's missing out on my brand new bright orange "Ty Cobb Tee Ball" shirt. It's really something to see, too, let me tell you.
OK, so do you think the author of your shirt was, or knew someone who was "like, really daddio, sorta.. groovy" in the 50's beat generation?
In the Village (pre 1960), I am told (I was 10 or so and lived 1000 miles away so how do I know for sure?) "TCTB?" was short for asking (someone else, usually another guy) about a woman's rep.
Translation: It's a question.
T stands for "Tendancy" meaning personal proclivity (inaccurately, sure, but we're talking about street talk, here pucky)
B stands for "Babe", being just the kind of a girl that you wanted to get really involved with.
C stands for... let's just say Megger's most unfavorite word, meaning someone who was way more trouble than abidable.
So TCTB meant, "Tendency C, or Tendency Babe?"
People wore T shirts with "TC" or "TB" or "TB Wanted" or "TC Need Not Apply", or "TC Required" on them.

Actually, it's a real live T-ball tee shirt. Boys size 10.
